Alberobello

As part of our broader journey through Italy, we made a dedicated detour for a few hours to witness one of the region's most unique architectural wonders. We couldn't pass through the area without stopping to see the wonderful, conical-roofed houses known as trulli. True to our belief that seizing every chance to explore right now far outweighs staying put, this quick stop provided some of the most distinct and memorable visuals of the entire southern route.

Highlights from our hours in Alberobello

The Wonderful Houses: Wandering through the dense clusters of these traditional Apulian dry stone huts. The contrast of the blindingly white limestone bases against the dark, grey conical roofs creates a fairytale-like atmosphere that feels entirely separate from the coastal towns.

Cinematic Details in Stone: Even with only a few hours to spare, the intricate, hand-painted symbols on the rooftops and the winding cobblestone pathways provided the perfect canvas for Tom to capture the environment in stunning cinematic detail.

The Value of a Detour: This short excursion perfectly captured our shared ethos—proving that you don't need days in a single location to make lasting memories, and that taking a quick opportunity to explore always pays off.
